The saying "It's a small world" rings true for me with regard to BLOODGOOD...
I met Les Carlsen and his wife Joyce years ago while looking for a singer. BLOODGOOD just started up so obviously he was not available. Joyce said "what am I chopped liver? I can sing!" lol. She has a powerful voice and we recorded some great material with Mark Welling on drums. Mark ended up being one of the main BLOODGOOD drummers.
David Zaffiro and I went to the same church. I didn’t know him well but knew he was a great guitar player. I was impressed with David's stage presence with BLOODGOOD.
In 1989, I was invited to play guitar with BLOODGOOD for a 2 night "Rock Theater" show. I didn't know Paul Jackson but had a blast working with him on the songs for the show.
Soon after, David Zaffiro called me about a new singer he was producing. David is a gifted producer and ended up producing a recording project for some of my music.
Michael Bloodgood is a pastor at a little church in the area so I went to check it out. I was soon playing in the worship band. Michael would take older hymns and "Rock them up", which I always enjoyed. We recorded some of those songs for the "Michael Bloodgood and Friends" CD, which also features many BLOODGOOD past and current members.
Years later in 2020... I get another invitation to play with BLOODGOOD for a special concert and "Trenches of Rock" documentary premier? The original line-up from the "Rock Theater" shows 30 years ago! The same guys with the same love for God and each other. Still feels like family.
Looking over the years I see how BLOODGOOD has impacted my life. I've heard many stories about how BLOODGOOD has impacted other people's lives. It's interesting to see what path God can lead you down if you are willing to following him.
